Steel Floating Trowel

Floating trowels are used to spread and apply a surface to screeds, renders and concrete. A bricklayer will most commonly be using it for trowelling concrete to provide a surface finish. The better-quality floating trowels are made from stainless steel. Another indicator of quality is the number of rivets used through the underside of the blade to attach the handle – the more rivets (eight to ten is a good number), the better the quality.

Again, the trowel should be cleaned after use and the blade wiped with an oily rag.
