Curing and finishing is ideal after the concrete leaves the bottom of the forms. Normally, afloat and brush finish is applied, but other
means of applying finishes are fast coming into use, a spray finish mainly. Curing the concrete used to be done by spraying the concrete mechanically with water, but this process leaves gouges, misses areas, and creates messy water conditions at the base of the structure. The use of curing membranes or worker-applied spraying compounds is now a more popular form of curing the concrete.
