In-situ bonding test

In-situ bonding tests on the coating materials can be performed at the end of the hydrostatic test. A 51 mm (2 in.) diameter core drill can be used to core into the concrete surface and isolate the test area, and a metal piece is glued to the coated surface with an epoxy. After two days of curing, the test can be performed using a hydraulic loading system to determine the bonding strength and the type of failure (Fig. 8.14).
